PAVLOVA 
Any ballerina and Pavlova's dog would drool at the sight of this!

4 egg whites
1 c. white sugar (250 ml)
1/2 tsp. vanilla (2 ml)
1 tsp. vinegar (5 ml)
2 c. whipping cream (500 ml)
Fresh fruit
1/2 c. toasted slivered almonds (125 ml)

Whip egg whites until they form peaks. Gradually add sugar, vanilla, and vinegar. Continue beating until very stiff. Spread on waxed paper or brown paper on a cookie sheet in a circle, slightly smaller than desired size. Bake one hour at 275 degrees F (140 degrees C). Turn off oven and leave meringue several hours to dry. Top with whipped cream, fresh fruit, and toasted almonds. (Kiwi fruit and strawberries are perfect.)
