GERMAN COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted cake flour
1 c. pecans, chopped
16 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. water
1/8 tsp. salt
Powdered sugar

Combine butter, vanilla, water and salt, and blend well. Add flour; stir well. Add pecans and chocolate pieces. Form into tight 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. Roll while still warm in sifted powdered sugar. Cool.

Makes 5 dozen.
