CRUNCHY BROWNIE BARS | |
1/3 c. butter 1 c. quick cooking oats 1/2 c. sugar 1/3 c. flour 1/4 tsp. baking soda TOPPING: 1/3 c. butter 3/4 c. sugar 1 (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels 2 tbsp. water 3/4 c. flour 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baing soda Chopped walnuts CRUST: Melt butter. Add oats, sugar, flour, and baking soda. Mix well with a fork. Press mixture into bottom of a 9 inch square pan; set aside. TOPPING: In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, chocolate chips, and water. Place over medium heat, stir until mixture is melted and smooth. Transfer to a large mixing bowl. Add flour, eggs, vanilla, salt, and baking soda. Beat until well blended. Pour over crust and sprinkle top with chopped nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan. Cut into bars. |
