1 c. butter or shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix together butter or shortening, sugar and eggs. Add flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Shape 1 teaspoon dough into small ball. Roll in mixture of 2 teaspoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Yield: 5 dozen.
