APPLE BUTTER FOR THE SLOW COOKER (NO SUGAR) | |
This is a huge recipe. I share it with friends and neighbors. I have found a combination of apples to be best. 6 sweet apples, cored and sliced (leave peelings on) 3 cups apple cider or unsweetened apple juice 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg 1/4 tsp. ground cloves Place the apples and all other ingredients in a Crock-Pot. Set the Crock on LOW for 12 to 15 hours. Note: If the butter has too much liquid, use an immersion blender to further thicken the butter and place on stove, uncovered, 15 minutes. Place the apple butter in sterilized jars. It may be stored in the refrigerator for 3 months or placed in the freezer. Submitted by: Eileen |
