FANTAIL OR LOAF BREAD | |
1 pkg. or cake active dry yeast 1 egg 1/3 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 3/4 c. warm water 5 c. all purpose flour 1/3 c. fat Mix together sugar, salt, fat and water. Then add egg, yeast and flour. Mix until it is a soft dough. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Make out into two loaves. To make fans, shape small loaf about 1/2" thick and place in loaf pan and continue until pan is full or make into a loaf and place in pan. Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes, then lower heat to 375 degrees and bake for 20 minutes. |
