2 c. sugar
2/3 c. milk
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients in saucepan. Stir over medium heat until chocolate melts and sugar dissolves. Cook to 234 degrees or until a small amount dropped in cold water forms a soft ball. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat. Blend in 2 tablespoons butter. Cool to lukewarm without stirring. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and beat until thick and no longer glossy. Pour into a buttered 8 or 9- inch square pan. Chill until firm. Cut into squares.
