SHREDDED YAMS 
2 lb. sweet potatoes
1/2 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. water
1 c. pineapple juice

Mix sugar, syrup and water; boil to a light syrup. Grate potatoes, put in water containing 1 tablespoon salt. Rinse and drain well. Place potatoes in baking dish. Pour pineapple juice, melted butter and syrup mixture over potatoes. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
