CHOCOLATE SURPRISE PUDDING 
1 sm. box chocolate pudding mix
1 sm. box vanilla pudding mix
1 sm. container Cool whip
1 pkg. graham crackers
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. vanilla

Cook pudding mix according to directions. Set aside to cool. Use a clear Pyrex dish. Put a layer of graham crackers in bottom of dish, 1/2 of chocolate pudding, a layer of Cool Whip, a layer of vanilla pudding and start over ending with a layer of chocolate pudding. Refrigerate until you cook the topping.

Use small pan to cook the 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water and 1 cup nuts to the hard ball stage (spoonful dropped in a cup of cold water forms hard ball). Stir in 1 tablespoon of vanilla and stir to cool off enough to spoon over pudding mix. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
