GRANDMA HAWKINS SWEET AND SOUR
BEANS
 
8 slices bacon
4 onions, sliced
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cider vinegar
2 (15 oz.) cans butter beans
1 lb. can green lima beans
1 lb. can red kidney beans
1 lb. can baked beans

Fry bacon and crumble. Cook onions in drippings until tender. Add brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, salt and vinegar. Simmer 20 minutes; set aside. Drain and rinse butter, lima and kidney beans. Add all beans to onion mixture with bacon. Bake in bean pot at 350 degrees for 1 hour or simmer all day in crockpot on low. Serves 12 to 14.
