GINGERBREAD MEN | |
1 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. molasses 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. ginger 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. vinegar 5 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda In a saucepan, mix creamed butter and sugar, molasses and spices and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Cool slightly, to lukewarm. Stir in eggs until blended and then mix in vinegar. Stir in flour and soda and stir to a smooth dough. Chill overnight in foil in refrigerator, divided into 6 pieces. Roll out one portion at a time on floured board, and cut into desired shape with a floured cookie cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 7 to 9 minutes in 350 degree oven. Decorate. Will stay forever in a tightly covered container. |
