FROSTING MELT-AWAY COOKIES 
1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 c. plain flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter; add sugar gradually. Blend in vanilla, flour and salt. Form into small balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Press center with thumb. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Take out and let cool for 15 minutes. Makes approximately 75-100 cookies.

ICING FOR COOKIES:

3 tsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
3 tsp. milk or cream

Blend until smooth; add a few drops of your favorite food coloring. Make a paste; press this icing through center of cookie with thumb or just spread on cookies.
