1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
Yolk f 6 eggs
2/3 c. cold water
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla or lemon
2 c. sifted flour

Take and beat the eggs and sugar until real foamy and yellow, then add the butter. Add the rest and beat together with flour and bake in a 350 degree oven until the cake tester comes out clean.
