MOM DUKES' BUTTER ROLL 
DOUGH:

2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. sugar
1/3 c. oil
2/3 c. milk

FILLING:

2 sticks butter
1 c. sugar

SAUCE:

1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
4 c. milk

Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar and sugar. Add 1/3 cup oil and milk. Divide dough into 4 portions and roll out and fill with 1/2 stick butter, sliced and 1/4 cup sugar in each portion. Seal each and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.

Meanwhile, mix sugar and cornstarch together in double boiler, add milk. Bring to a boil and pour over hot pies. Pour 3 capfuls of vanilla over sauce. Cut sauce into pies.
