CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRY COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 jar maraschino cherries
6 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk

Stir dry ingredients together. Beat butter and sugar on low speed until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Gradually add dry ingredients. Beat until well blended. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press dough with thumb. Drain cherries. Reserve juice. Place a cherry in the center of each cookie. In saucepan combine chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Heat until chips melt. Stir in 4 teaspoons cherry juice. Spoon 1 teaspoon frosting over each cherry. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
