1 piece boiling bacon or ham, cooked and cut into chunks
1 lb. cooking apples
Cider
Flour
Pepper
Brown sugar
Shortcrust pastry
Egg

Place bacon pieces into pie dish. Sprinkle with flour and pepper and cover with cider. Add a layer of apples and a little sugar. Cover with shortcrust pastry. Brush with egg and bake in a hot oven for 20 minutes, then bake 20 minutes longer at a reduced heat.
