BISHOP ASBURY POUND CAKE | |
4 sticks butter, softened to room temperature 4 c. sugar 10 eggs, room temperature 2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice 2 tsp. vanilla extract 4 c. cake flour, sifted Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 12 cup tube pan. Cream together butter and sugar. Add one egg at a time, mixer should run continuously at medium speed. Add vanilla and lemon juice. Add flour, a little at a time. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake at 325 degrees 1 1/2 hours. Use straw test to check for doneness. Cool on rack, then turn out onto rack. |
