FOUR LAYER CHOCOLATE PUDDING
DESSERT
 
1 cup flour
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup melted butter
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 cup Cool Whip
1 small pkg. instant chocolate pudding
1 small pkg. instant vanilla pudding
4 cups milk, divided

Combine flour, nuts and butter. Mix well. Press into bottom only of 13x9 in. baking dish.

Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes. Cool completely.

Combine cream cheese and powdered sugar until well blended. Fold in the Cool Whip. Spread over the crust and chill.

Prepare chocolate pudding as directed on pkg. Spread over cream cheese layer. Chill completely.

Prepare vanilla pudding as directed on pkg. Pour over chocolate pudding. Chill completely.

Spread additional Cool Whip over top.

I speed it up a bit by only using a large choc pudding and omitting the vanilla.. you can make with out nuts in crust too to make it a bit firmer only use 3 cups of milk in choc pudding

i make the same thing but i add the chocolate and vanilla pudding together in the same layer then top with cool whip then sprinkle some chopped nuts and chocolate shavings on top

I love this recipe, we make it every holiday, I put mint in the chocolate sometimes, or just use a large chocolate pudding and put the whip cream also on top and sprinkle it with the mint and chocolate tiny pieces, very good...

Delicious -- my aunt uses pistachio pudding for something different. It tastes just as good with sugar-free pudding (any flavor) and 1/2 the powdered sugar for a diabetic friendly dessert.
