GINGER BARS 
1 c. dark brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon and ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 c. milk
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix together sugar, eggs, butter, molasses and vanilla. Sift flour with soda, salt and spices. Add alternately with milk. Mix well. Add nuts. Pour into greased 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool in pan, then cut. Makes 2 dozen. Frost with lemon glaze.
