DATE FILLED COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
1 pkg. dates

Cream sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Mix soda, baking powder, and flour together and add it alternately with sour cream and batter. Refrigerate 2 hours before rolling out and cutting with cookie cutter.

Filling: 1 package dates, pitted and stewed in a little water. Add a little sugar and a bit of flour. Put teaspoon of filling on bottom; cook, cover, and seal with second cookie. Bake at 375 degrees until edges are light brown.
