ORANGE COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
2 c. white sugar
2 eggs, separated
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour cream or buttermilk
1 orange grate rind & pulp

Cream shortening with sugar. Add beaten egg yolks; mix well. Sift flour with baking powder and soda. Add to mixture alternately with sour cream. Add grated orange rind and pulp. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.

Drop on greased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes. When cool ice with orange icing. (Use juice and grated rind of 1 orange to 1 pound box powdered sugar.) Mix well and spread on cookies.
