FRUIT CAKE 
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. brandy
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 lb. dates - whole
1 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. candied cherries - whole
1/2 lb. candied pineapple - whole
2 c. walnuts - half
2 c. Brazil nuts - whole

Mix sugar, eggs, vanilla, brandy. Sift baking powder and salt with flour. Mix dates in flour mixture. Add to first mixture, then add rest of ingredients. Bake in 5 waxed paper lined 6 x 3 inch pan. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 275 degrees. When cold, wrap in cloths soaked in wine or brandy. Store in plastic pails.
