1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 egg
1/2 cup dairy sour cream
1 cup bread flour
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 1/2 tsp. hot water
1/2 cup raisins, chopped
1/4 cup hickory or other nuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 450°F.

Combine the ingredients in the order given, cream the butter and the sugar and sift the dry ingredients except the baking soda which is dissolved in the hot water.

Drop the batter from a teaspoon onto a greased baking sheet.

Bake at 450°F for about 8 minutes.
