TEA COOKIES
2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1/4 tsp. sea salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. honey

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Sift the dry ingredients together. Cream the butter and combine it with 1/8 cup water, vanilla and honey. Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Knead the dough into a ball, adding the rest of the water as needed to achieve a firm texture.

Chill the dough for 1 hour and roll it to 3/4 inch thick. Cut to desired shapes with a knife or cookie cutters. Transfer to greased cookie sheets and bake for 5 minutes.

Variations: Cookies may be varied by substituting orange juice for water or by adding 1/2 cup crushed almonds, walnuts, raisins or poppy seeds.
