GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 pkg. German chocolate
2 tsp. butter flavor
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. sift flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Cream the sugar and shortening. Add eggs, vanilla and buttermilk. Sift together flour, soda, salt and add to mixture; mix well. Then add softened German chocolate. Blend together well.

Bake in 9 inch stem pan, that has been well greased and floured, approximately 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees. Test with toothpick. If done, place cake under tight fitting cake. Cover while still hot and leave covered until cold.
