LAZY DAISY OATMEAL CAKE 
CAKE:

1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. Quaker oatmeal
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Pour boiling water over oats, cover and let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy; gradually add sugars and beat until fluffy. Blend in vanilla and eggs. Add oats and mix well. Sift flour, soda, salt and nutmeg and add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Bake in well-greased and floured 9 inch square pan for 50 to 55 minutes at 350 degrees. Do not remove from pan.

FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter, melted
1/3 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
3/4 c. coconut

Combine all ingredients and spread evenly over cake. Broil until frosting becomes bubbly. Cake may be served warm or cold.
