NEIMAN-MARCUS' $250.00 COOKIES
As the story goes, a woman was having lunch at Neiman-Marcus. She was served these delicious cookies. When she asked for the recipe, the waiter told her that the chef charged two-fifty for the recipe. She replied, "OKAY, just add it on my bill." She paid by charge card and at the end of the month found that this recipe cost her $2.50. She is bound to share this recipe with others so that she can get her money's worth. Tall tale or not, the cookies are delicious.

Neiman-Marcus' $250.00 Cookies

 Joellyn (California) says:
I have made this recipe many times, and it is very good, but I have to mention that there are many various versions of this story floating around out there. The one I heard (and where I got the recipe) was about a woman who wrote to Mrs. Fields company and asked for her Chocolate Cookie recipe and was told it would cost, like the Nieman-Marcus cookie, $2.50. When she received her credit card bill, she was shocked to see that they had charged her $250.00. As it states in the recipe above, the woman wanted to get her money's worth, and also to get back at Mrs. Fields company, so she decided to share the recipe. I was given this recipe and this story more than 20 years ago!
