STEAK SAN MARCO 
Braising beef, cut in serving pieces (approx. 2 - 2 1/2 lbs.)
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 env. onion soup mix
1 lg. can tomatoes
1 can mushrooms, optional

A dry wine may be substituted.

Braise beef on both sides. Turn down heat and add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 1 - 1 1/2 hours or until meat is fork tender. Serve over rice. Plan on 2 serving pieces per person.
