1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. mace
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. chopped apples
2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Beat well. Add dry ingredients. Batter is stiff. Stir in apples, vanilla, and nuts. Spoon into greased 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan.
