BARBARA CATON'S TOASTY NUT GRANOLA | |
6 c. quick or old-fashion oats, uncooked 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 3/4 c. wheat germ 1/2 c. coconut 1/2 c. vegetable oil 1/3 c. sesame seed 1 c. chopped nuts 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. honey Heat oats in ungreased 9x13 inch pan in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Combine oats, brown sugar, wheat germ, coconut, sesame seeds, and nutmeats. Add oil, honey, and vanilla. Mix until dry ingredients are well coated. Divide oats mixture into 2 equal parts. Bake in 2 ungreased pans for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. Stirring often to brown evenly. Cool. Stir until crumbly. Be careful not to over cook. Store in cool place. Makes 10 cups. |
