TWENTY FOUR HOUR SALAD 
3 egg yolks
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. butter
Dash of salt
24 marshmallows
1 c. heavy cream, whipped
2 c. dr. pitted white cherries
2 c. dr. pineapple tidbits
2 oranges, peeled, cut into pieces or mandarin oranges
2 tbsp. pineapple syrup

Cook egg yolk, sugar, vinegar, pineapple syrup, butter and salt in double boiler until thick, stirring constantly. Cool. Fold in whipped cream, fruit and marshmallows. Chill 24 hours. Decorate top with orange sections and maraschino cherries if desired. This is an old favorite in Iowa.
