APPLE SORGHUM BREAD | |
1 stick butter, softened (or butter) 1/2 c. sugar 3 eggs, room temperature 2 c. self-rising flour 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1 c. applesauce 1/4 c. sorghum syrup 1 c. raisins 1/2 c. chopped nuts Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Set aside. Mix applesauce and sorghum syrup. Add dry ingredients alternately with applesauce mixture to egg mixture. Fold in raisins and nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan and continue cooling on wire rack. Makes 1 loaf. May be frozen. |
