1 c. butter
1 c. oil
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
5 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream oil, butter and sugar. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Roll in a ball with teaspoon, put on cookie sheet and press slightly with a glass dipped in sugar. May sprinkle more sugar on top if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Makes about 7 dozen.
