EASY FRENCH ONION SOUP | |
2 lb. onions (about 5 c. sliced) 1/4 c. butter 1 3/4 qt. hot water 8 beef bouillon cubes Peel onions; thinly slice; brown lightly in butter on top of range in frying pan. Pour sauteed onion slices into crock pot; add hot water, bouillon cubes; stir to blend; cover. Cook in crock pot to blend. Cover. Cook in crock pot on low setting, 7-9 hours or high setting 3-6 hours. Serve with toast and mozzarella cheese. Recipe can easily be doubled depending on the size of your crock pot. Recipe makes 2 quarts. |
