1 c. flour 1 c. milk 1/4 tsp. salt 1 egg 1 tsp. sugar Salad oil Sift dry ingredients. Combine milk and eggs in bowl and beat well. Add to dry ingredients and beat until smooth and the consistency of thick cream. Heat oil in small saucepan to about 360 degrees or until a cube of bread browns in 10 seconds. Heat rosette iron in hot oil before dipping into batter. Dip into batter until absolutely even with the top of the iron. Fry in deep cooking oil until a delicate brown. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. |
