LAZY DAISY OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. uncooked oats
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

In a bowl pour water over oats; let stand for 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy. Add sugars and beat until fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs; mix. Add oats and mix well. Sift dry ingredients together then add to oat mixture. Mix well. Pour into well greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.

FROSTING:

1/4 c. melted butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. milk
1/3 c. chopped nuts
3/4 c. coconut

Mix all ingredients together. Pour on top of warm cake. Broil in oven until bubbly.
