SWEDISH TEA WREATH | |
1 1/2 c. milk, scalded 1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 2 tsp. salt 2 cakes yeast 1/2 c. lukewarm water 2 eggs 7-8 c. flour Add yeast to 1/2 cup lukewarm water. Let set. Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Add yeast mixture, eggs and flour. Beat and knead until smooth. Let rise, punch down. Divide into 2 parts. Roll each into rectangle. Brush with shortening. Sprinkle on 1/4 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon cinnamon and 1/2 cup raisins. Roll up jelly roll style. Shape into rings on baking sheets. Snip at 1 1/2 inch intervals. Cover. Let rise. Bake 35 minutes, 350 degrees. |
