HASTY PUDDING 
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. raisins
2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
Flour for stiff batter

Boil until sugar is dissolved:

1 c. sugar
3 c. water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Drop the batter by spoonfuls into the boiling water and sugar, then put in hot oven and bake 1/2 hour. The pudding will be nicely browned and under it the spicy dressing, which is fine served warm on a cold night for supper.
