INDIAN BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. melted Crisco
Hot fat for frying, 375 degrees

Mix flour, salt, and baking powder. In small bowl mix milk and melted Crisco. Pour into dry mixture. Mixture should be soft but not sticky. Roll into 7 inch circle 1/2 inch thick. Cut circle in half. Knife slit each piece, fry in deep hot fat until golden. Powdered sugar or honey for topping.
