ORANGE BREAD
This bread is delicious, although it is hard not to cut into it until the next day!

4 tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter
1 cup honey
1 egg
1 1/2 tbsp. grated orange rind
2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup fresh orange juice
3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts

Cream butter, continue creaming while adding honey in a fine stream. Add egg and beat well, then add orange peel. Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt and sift together again.

Add flour alternately with orange juice, a small amount at a time to first mixture, beating after each addition until smooth. Stir in nuts, blend well. Pour into 9x5x3-inch lined with waxed paper, and greased, loaf pan.

Bake 1 hour at 325°F degrees or until done. Let cool in pan 10 minutes.

Turn out of pan, let stand until cold. Wrap in waxed paper or aluminum foil.

Note: Store overnight to blend flavors and for easy slicing.

Makes 1 loaf.
