OATMEAL BANNOCKS | |
1 c. wheat flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. multi-grain oatmeal 2 eggs 1 tbsp. honey 1 1/2 c. milk Nuts (optional) Sift flour, baking soda and cream of tartar into medium bowl. Stir in the salt and oatmeal. Bat the eggs, honey and milk in small bowl until well mixed. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the liquids. Beat until smooth. Grease the griddle lightly; heat over low to medium heat. When bubbles form, turn and cook the other side for 2 to 3 minutes. Serve warm with butter and honey or any desired topping (blackberry syrup, etc.). Makes about 24 (3 inch) bannocks. |
