HAMBURGER AND GRAVY SUPPER
1 lb. hamburger (I use ground round)
Diced onion
1 egg
Bread or cracker crumbs or oatmeal
1/2 c. catsup
Salt and pepper to taste
Several sprinkles of oregano (ground)
Couple shakes or Worcestershire sauce

Mix together like a meatloaf and divide in 4-5 patties. Fry in hot grease to brown and when brown on both sides, drain off grease and add one can of gravy or can of cream of mushroom soup. Once it starts to boil turn heat to simmer and cover and simmer, turning patties often. I then peel potatoes for mashed and when they are boiled enough to be mashed the patties are ready too. Also have vegetable ready to serve all at the same time. Applesauce is good to serve with this too.

 Phyllis Chittum (Virginia) says:
Add equal amount of diced green pepper as you do the diced onion. It is almost a Salisbury steak patty. Excellent. This can also be put into patties - then in casserole dish and add one can diluted Cr. Mushroom soup - which makes its own gravy as it cooks. Its outstanding - and definitely a keeper.
