BEST BISCUITS 
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
2/3 c. milk

Mix dry ingredients together and cut in shortening. Add egg to milk, beat to mix. Add to flour mixture. Stir well. Turn out on floured board and knead several times. Cut and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for about 12 minutes. Makes 70-72 tiny biscuits; makes 24, using small regular cutter.
