DECORATORS BUTTER CREAM ICING 
2/3 c. water
2-4 tbsp. meringue powder
1 1/4 c. Crisco
2-3 lbs. powdered sugar
2 tsp. butter flavoring
2 tsp. clear vanilla
3/4 tsp. salt

Mix water and meringue powder on high speed until peaks form. Add Crisco and powder sugar alternately. Add salt and flavoring. Use at least 2 pounds powdered sugar. Add more if stiffer icing is needed. Use 4 tablespoons of meringue powder if icing needs to hold its shape more. This stuff is great to use for decorating cakes for the kids. Color icing with food coloring or icing colors.
