WALNUT APPLE PIE | |
CRUST: 1 3/4 c. flour 1/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/3 lb. butter 2/3 tsp. salt Enough water or apple juice to blend dough FILLING: 6 lg. or 9 sm. McIntosh apples, cored, sliced & skin peeled off 1 2/3 c. sour cream 1 egg (2 if sm.) 1 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. flour TOPPING: 1/3 c. brown sugar 1/3 c. sugar 1/2 c. flour Pinch salt 1 tbsp. cinnamon 1 c. chopped walnuts 1/4 lb. butter Crust: Combine ingredients. Roll out and put in 10" pie pan or 2 smaller ones. Filling: Mix ingredients together and fill pie shell. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Stir filling. Mix up. Topping: Blend ingredients together. Place on top of pie. Bake last 15 minutes at 350 degrees. |
