4 eggs 2 c. milk 2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt Note: Self-rising flour cannot be used with this recipe. Heat oven to 450 degrees. Grease 12 custard cups or a muffin pan. With hand beater, beat eggs slightly; add milk, flour and salt; beat just until smooth. Do Not Over Beat. If using custard cups, fill 1/2 full; if using a muffin pan, fill 3/4 full. Bake 25 minutes. Lower oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake 15-20 minutes longer or until deep golden brown. Immediately remove from pan; serve hot. This is a bread that forms crusty hollow shells. Break open and spread with butter for a delicious change. |
