1 German chocolate cake mix
1 pkg. Kraft caramels
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. condensed milk
3/4 - 1 c. chocolate chips
3/4 - 1 c. chopped nuts

Prepare cake mix as directed. Pour half in greased 9x13 inch pan and bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Melt caramels, butter and condensed milk together (works great in microwave) and pour over baked cake. Pour remaining cake batter over all. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts, continue baking 30 minutes more. Serve right out of the oven with ice cream... mmmmm! Tastes pretty good out of the refrigerator the next day too!
