TURTLE CAKE | |
14 oz. caramels 1 can evaporated milk 1 stick butter 1 box German chocolate cake mix 1 c. pecans, chopped 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips Melt 14 ounce caramels, 1/2 cup evaporated milk and 1/2 stick butter. Mix German chocolate cake mix, 1/2 cup evaporated milk and 1/2 stick of butter. Spread half of cake mixture in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. It will be stiff. Spoon in the mounds in bottom of pan and spread with fingers. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes. Pour caramel mixture over this. Sprinkle with 1 cup nuts and 1 cup chocolate chips. Spread the rest of the cake mixture over this and bake 15 minutes longer. Let set 12 hours before cutting. |
