1 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. chocolate chips
1 c. nuts (optional)

Cream butter, sugars, and vanilla. Add eggs, beat well. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Add gradually to creamed mixture. Beat well, stir in chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool. Makes 6 dozen cookies.
