GLAZED LEMON NUT BREAD | |
1/4 c. butter 2 eggs 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 3/4 c. sugar 2 tsp. grated lemon peel 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 3/4 c. milk 1/2 c. chopped walnuts GLAZE: 2 tsp. lemon juice 2 tbsp. sugar Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy - add eggs and lemon peel. Beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt - add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Add walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes in 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch pan. Cool 10 minutes. Spoon glaze over top. |
